Our vision is to create a space where specialists can share their expertise, ask questions, and receive professional answers. Additionally, the forum serves as a hub for exchanging the latest developments in the customs field, which are evolving at an unprecedented pace.

Michael Lux studied law and Government in Germany, the US and France. He is admitted to the German bar and can as such appear also before Austrian and EU Courts. His aim is, however, always to find in conflicts on customs issues a solution with the competent customs authorities (also in Member States other than those where he can appear before a Court) and with the EU Commission. This is facilitated by the fact that he has been, before 2012, a customs official himself (in Germany) and in the EU Commission where he has held various positions as head of unit responsible for, inter alia, the customs tariff, customs legislation and customs procedures.
He has written several books, and many commentaries, inter alia, on customs, VAT, anti-dumping and safeguard measures, restrictions for dual-use goods, as well as recent ESG measures relevant for importers such as CBAM and Deforestation (full list on www.customs-law.expert).
He is also a lecturer and student advisor in the Master of Customs Administration (MCA) program of the University of Muenster.
